Dean Marquette built several homes for himself over the years and kept busy assisting family with remodeling projects in the evenings and on weekends. Each project intensified his passion for the industry and his desire to help others achieve their dream spaces. It was that passion that drove Dean to resign from his full-time job as a machinist and start Dercon Construction Services. The Dercon name is derived from Dean’s two sons’ names, Derek and Conner, who have been involved in the business since its inception.
Established in 2004, Dercon Construction Services was founded to achieve remodeling excellence in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Initially, Dean ran all aspects of the business and remodeling projects himself, from assisting with upfront design to final inspection. As Dercon grew, Dean recognized the importance of surrounding himself with a team that, at their core, held the same values and passion for the industry.

Founder
Dean Marquette founded Dercon Construction Services in 2004. He has been a resident of Anoka county for nearly 50 years, and has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. He has been commended for his great problem solving, listening skills, and extensive knowledge of the construction industry. Dean began Dercon as a side job but within a few years, the demand was high enough that he decided to take the risk and work on his company full-time. Dean is passionate about construction work, our company, and our clients. This passion is reflected in our customer experience and workmanship.
Design & Sales Consultant
Derek Marquette is Dean’s oldest son. Derek attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with minors in Finance and Marketing. He has been working with his father since the age of 12, and joined the team full time in 2014. Derek is now a top design and sales consultant with over 10 years of experience. He prides himself maintining our clienteles ultimate satisfaction and has a goal of educating his clients on the best products and installtion techniques.
Sales & Marketing Manager
Conner Marquette is Dean's youngest son. Conner attended college at St. Cloud State University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with minors in Entrepreneurship and Sales. Conner has been working with his father since the age of 13 and has been a top sales & design consultant for 8+ years. Conner is always striving to make our customers experience top notch through his great communication, informative style, and product knowledge. Conner enjoys creating unique design solutions for our customers and watching a project come together from start to finish.
Project Supervisor
Dan Hosley joined the Dercon team in 2022, bringing over 20 years of experience in project management, customer service, and hands on carpentry experience. Dan is responsible for managing all of our remodeling projects, overseeing work, and ensuring adherence to Dercon quality standards. He prides himself on building meaningful relationships with our customers and enjoys seeing a project through from start date to final clean.
Project Estimator
Trevor Dahl joined the Dercon team in 2018 with extensive experience in project management, estimating, and hands on field experience. Trevor works with our Design & Sales Consultants, Project Coordinators, & Project Supervisors to ensure that our budgets are accurate upfront and ensures that we stick to these budgets throughout the production of our projects. Trevor enjoys seeing all of our projects come through his desk and enjoys helping our team come up with unique solutions to design challenges.
Lead Carpenter
Jeff Haug joined the Dercon Team in 2017. With over 27 years of experience in the construction industry and a fourth generation carpenter, Jeff leads our production team out in the field ensuring every job is neat, clean, and organized and ensures the quality of our projects exceeds our customers expectations. Jeff enjoys anything finish carpentry whether that is installing millwork, hanging cabinets, or custom railings. Jeff also enjoys creating relationships with clients and leading and teaching our younger team members out in the field.
Project Coordinator
Kyle Sandven brings over 13 years of experience from his tenure in the U.S. Air Force as a Weather Forecaster, transitioning seamlessly into his role as Project Coordinator with Dercon. Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in operations and project management, alongside his Project Management Professional Certification, Kyle is adept at leading and managing projects of varying scopes. His expertise encompasses efficient resource allocation, effective communication, and meticulous project oversight. Kyle oversees all of our project coordination, material procurement, permitting, and vendor management, ensuring each remodel is executed with precision and timeliness.
Shop Manager
Frank Fotia joined the Dercon team in 2007, Frank has undertaken many roles throughout his time at Dercon. Frank provides an abundance of experience in design, production, and all facets of the construction process. Frank now ensures our shop and production team has all the tools and materials needed to get our jobs completed in the highest efficiency and highest quality. Frank also undertakes the unique requests and customized scenarios our clients bring to us.
Lead Carpenter
Eric has been with Dercon since 2020 and has over 15 years of carpentry experience. His favorite part of the job is bringing our customers’ visions to life, especially when it comes to challenging finish carpentry requests. Eric works hard to ensure our jobs are on schedule, clean, and that quality is always exceeding expectations. Eric also enjoys leading & teaching our younger team members out in the field.
Office manager
Carly started our her career after high school as a hair stylist, where she graduated from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 2014. She then worked at a salon, doing hair for almost 5 years. While doing hair, she went back to school and earned her Accounting degree. Carly started out her Accounting career at a Law Firm, where she worked in their Accounting Department. She joined the Dercon Team in early 2021 and now manages all things accounting & administrative within our "Back Office".

Design & Sales Consultant
Chenelle Johnson is a distinguished designer with over 22 years of industry expertise and holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design and a Certificate in Kitchen & Bath Design. Her passion for design began in childhood, ignited by family travels that cultivated a deep appreciation for design and architecture. Chenelle's ethos revolves around understanding her clients' personalities and preferences, guiding them through the design and construction process to craft unique and valued environments. Drawing inspiration from global travels, the wonders of nature, and local influences, Chenelle infuses her projects with creativity and authenticity.
